1. Pick a mantra or phrase for the day
This can be a simple phrase you use everyday, or switch it up. Here are a few of my favorites.
- I am love
- I am chosen
- I am worthy
- I am pure light and joy
- Everything works out for me
- Show me how good it can get
2. Daily quick journal 3 by 2
I like to write down 3 things I want to accomplish or consider for the day, and 2 things I want the Universe/god/higher power/quantum physics to figure out. This can be as simple as show me a yellow flower or decide on next career path. It’s not so much a to do list, but a way to get thoughts on paper. It’s fun to check back and see how things sometimes show up.
3. Mini meditation ritual
This can be lighting a candle, pulling a tarot card for the day, or holding a crystal. Whatever is meaningful to you. I like to switch it up depending what I need for the day, and most of the it seems to work out just right.
4. Get some fresh air
It doesn’t have to be much but get that outside air into your lungs if you can. I have a short 15 minute loop I walk with my favorite coffee mug on nice days, and on really chilly days I just step on the deck and take a few breaths. Check out this mindful walking meditation.

5. Add some whimsy and fun to your style
This can be as simple as a fun piece of jewelry, a special tote-i have a mushroom bag I use on fun days, or even a You Are Magic shirt that spreads joy. Sunnies are one of my favorite ways to do this, why not wear fun sunglasses?
6. Look for joy throughout the day
Stop and pet the neighbors dog, do the hopscotch course on the sidewalk, or wave at the kid looking at you. The more you do this the more you will find and seek out these moments. These little diversions from your daily routine add so much joy.
7. Welcome home ritual
Put on your favorite song, some fun slippers, light a candle and welcome your self home. This little step helps shed the day and brings you back to you.
8. Document the wonder
I have a wall calendar that I write 3 things of joy and wonder at the end of the day. Be it repeating numbers, a hawk, a cool flower, a hot air balloon or a moment of serendipity. Normally just one word to remind me of the little pieces of magic thoughout the day.
Magic doesn’t always arrive in big, dramatic moments. Most of the time, it shows up in small choices you repeat until they become part of who you are. When you light a candle, pull a card, take a mindful walk, or notice the beauty in an ordinary Tuesday, you’re reminding yourself: you are magic already. Try one or two of these practices today, let them ripple outward, and see what shifts. Remember you are magic.
